Nestled in the rolling hills of Cavendish near Sudbury, Gainsborough Spa is a unique rural health club and retreat. We were commissioned to transform underused fitness studios and cafe zone into a unique

destination spa. Working closely with the client we interpreted their vision to create an interior that was sympathetic to the converted farm buildings and paid homage to Sudbury’s most famous son Thomas Gainsborough, the 18th century English portrait and landscape artist.

The spa now boasts beautifully appointed treatment rooms, stunning relaxation room overlooking a garden terrace, serail mud chamber and private dining area. As a result, previously loss-making facilities are now sources of significant additional profit.
